In a post that Temitope Ajayi shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, he said since the report surfaced online, Seun Okinbaloye, Channels TV, and Arise News have all used it.
Temitope Ajayi said statistics and figures can be misleading depending on how they are presented. He said the table does not give the full picture. Temitope Ajayi said the question to ask is that what is the cost of living in all of the countries that have been considered in the report.
Temitope Ajayi wrote on his official X handle;
“There is this Nairametrics’ table of minimum wage in oil producing countries in Africa compared to that of Nigeria. Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV showed the same table yesterday on his show and I have seen Arise News anchors use the same table as a talking point in their question and answer segment. Statistics and numbers can be misleading depending on how they are presented. The table does not give the full picture. It is not enough to present naira equivalent of minimum wage in Angola, Algeria, Tunisia, Kenya, DRC Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana etc. The question to ask is: what is the cost of living in these countries?”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
