After That Nightclub Incident Last Year, A lot of My Privileges Have Been Denied-According to Senator Natasha

Following a nightclub incident last year, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Legbe expressed worries in a recent interview with the Brekete Family about what she described as intentional attempts to exclude her from political and international engagements. The senator bemoaned the loss of privileges, her exclusion from international events, and a recent move to change her Senate seating arrangement when speaking on Human Rights Radio and Television.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Senator Natasha revealed that she had been removed from various international activities, including a United Nations event where she was initially nominated but later struck off the list. She claimed that since last year, she has been funding her international engagements personally, as official sponsorship has been withheld.

Additionally, she pointed out that her seat in the Senate had been moved to a less visible position without prior notice, which she interpreted as an attempt to silence her. “My seat was already at the back, but suddenly, without any notice, it was moved to a far corner, away from the cameras. If you sit there, the cameras won’t pick you up unless they zoom out,” she explained.

The Senator also highlighted her recent removal from the Local Content Committee, a move she attributes to misconceptions about her influence in redirecting resources from the Niger Delta to the North. She defended her role, emphasizing the need for feed gas for national projects, including the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline and the push for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure.

Expressing gratitude to Nigerians for their support, she warned that plans were underway to suspend her from the Senate. “If I am suspended, fine. It will not stop me from doing my work wherever I can,” she declared.

Following her revelations, Human Rights Radio attempted to contact Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his response, but their calls went unanswered.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
