Mr. Bashir Ahmad, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former presidential adviser, has responded to the announcement made by Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, that Muslims will be included in the state government’s security committee. Bashir Ahmad responded by stating that the governor had chosen to include Muslims in the security committee as a result of popular outrage. AVM. Napoleon Bali (rtd), HRH Da Gyang Buba, Prof. Gyanyir Lombin, Gen. G.G. Shipi (rtd), DIG Felix Vwamhi (rtd), DIG Habila Jwalshak (rtd), Major Toholman Daffi (rtd), Arc Samuel Jatau, Coordinator Operation Rainbow, and one PIDAN representative were among the original members of the committee, he continued.
In addition, he noted that after the Muslim community argued that Gov Mutfwang’s list was one sided, the Secretary to the Plateau State Government, confirmed that the Governor would include Muslims in the list.
Mr Bashir Ahmad made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Thursday afternoon, while reacting to the said report.
