Punch News reports that the second leg of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Libya in Group D has been cancelled. In the first leg, which occurred last Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria’s Super Eagles had already secured a 1-0 victory over Libya. The Libya Football Federation had previously accused Nigeria of sabotage and threatened legal action. CAF later updated its schedule for matches across the continent on Tuesday, but excluded the Super Eagles vs. Libya game.
The Nigerian Football Federation, along with the Super Eagles and officials, also recounted their 14-hour ordeal at the Libyan airport, where they reportedly faced mistreatment, leading them to opt for returning home.
