Abuja Protest: Senator’s Involvement in Sponsoring Anti-Government Protests Nyesom Wike Reveals

 

Security agencies have identified a senator as a sponsor of the anti-government protests, according to FCT Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. The Vanguard Newspaper says this. Following an urgent FCT Security Council meeting in Abuja on Thursday night, this was made public. The minister stated that the senator would be invited for questioning by relevant agencies in due time.

Wike emphasized that while protests are allowed in a democracy, protesters must respect the court order restricting their activities to the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

He noted that the government is working to address the issues raised by the protesters, but emphasized the importance of obeying the rule of law and court orders.

The minister also expressed concerns about the potential for miscreants to hijack the protests and cause destruction, citing incidents in other states.
