Monday Okpebholo: I Want To Tell You That I Am Starting From Where Adams Oshiomhole Stopped

In response to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement that he had won the Edo State governorship, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the newly elected governor of Edo State, stated that he was taking over from former governor Adams Oshiomhole and that he also wished to inform the good people of the state that he intended to emulate the work that Senator Godswill Akpabio had done in Akwa Ibom State.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to Punch Newspaper, the Governor-Elect of the just concluded Governorship Election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo said “I am very happy, and I thank the Edo people for choosing the right person to do the job. Look, the new Edo is rising. I am here to develop Edo. I want to transform Edo the way it should be. I want to tell you that I am starting from where Adams Oshiomhole stopped. I also want to let you know that I would like to imitate what Akpabio has done in Akwa Ibom State. Edo has received a new transformation. By the grace of God, Edo is back again.”

 

On the other hand, the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, said that the outcome of the September 21st Governorship Election appeared to have daunted the spirit of many people of the State who felt powerless in the face of brute force of the institutions that were supposed to protect them. He also added that in a democracy, there were always safeguards for addressing grievances and they hoped that all those affected would seek resolution for the blatant disregard for law and process in the September 21st Governorship Election in the State.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
