The former national publicity secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, has claimed that while Dave Umahi was attending APC rallies, he was questioned by Uche Secondus, the party’s national chairman at the time. He stated that this lack of accountability has sparked fears among party members that the country may become a one-party state. He pointed out that the situation is further complicated by Damagum’s organization of questionable congresses nationwide, which some perceive as a self-serving attempt to consolidate power rather than genuinely support the party.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”The responsibility of ensuring that party members fall into line is in the hands of the leadership of the party. And the Leadership of the PDP is under Umar Damagum. I remember when Dave Umahi was rallying with the APC, Uche Secondus queried him and asked him for explanation on why he’s going around with the ruling party.
Rather than Damagum to address Wike on why he’s dining and wining with the members of the APC, he’s going around to organize shroudy Congresses across the country. And they are claiming that they are helping the party. The point at which the party is now is that there is fear among it members that the country might end up as a One party given the approach of Chief Nyesom Wike.
