Bishop Hassan-Kukah made the initial statement at a Channels Television town hall meeting, pointing out that President Tinubu’s non-signing sets a bad precedent.

However, Onanuga corrected this, stating that Vice President Kashim Shettima represented Tinubu at the first signing, which committed candidates to a free and fair election.

This development comes after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) refused to sign a peace pact aimed at preventing violence in the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial election on September 21. The PDP cited allegations against the police as their reason for not signing the pact.

Onanuga wrote;

“Bishop Kukah is not correct; Tinubu signed peace accords in 2023

“Contrary to the claims by Bishop Kukah, President Tinubu signed the two peace accords preceding his election in 2023. The first accord, committing the candidates to a free and credible election in the country, was signed on September 29, 2022. Vice President Kashim Shettima represented Tinubu.

“The second agreement, signed on February 23, 2023, was for the candidates to accept the election outcome”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
