Punch reports that two brothers in their early 20s have been taken into custody in the Erima community of Rivers State’s Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area for kidnapping and abusing a 14-year-old girl. The girl was taken to a secluded location where the brothers took turns to use her. Her mother raised the alarm when she didn’t return, leading to a search party by the community and vigilantes. One of the suspects was arrested after a struggle, while the other fled.
The arrested suspect was handed over to the Egi Police Division Headquarters and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the arrest of the fleeing suspect to face the law.
