He argued that Fubara’s absence indicates his lack of commitment to the PDP and his intention to defect to the APP. He emphasized that as governor, Fubara has a responsibility to uphold the constitution and govern effectively, which includes presenting a budget and recognizing the state assembly. He stated that the importance of responsible governance and the need for Fubara to prioritize the interests of the people of Rivers State.
He said in an interview with TVC, ”PDP has conducted a state Congresses and we have an elected State excos that we are proud of. And we want to assure you that everybody will be carried along. Fubara and his deputy governor were invited to come to this PDP Congress because we voted for them as members or PDP. If he was a true member of PDP, he would have here to make speeches on behalf of the party.
But it is clear to the National Executive that he does not believe in PDP and he has made up his mind to go to APP. And that is why him and his deputy didn’t come here to make any speech. The governor should be the one to decide what he wants to achieve for the people of Rivers State. He swore an oath to uphold the constitution of Nigeria. He has been given a mandate and the Supreme Court has validated his mandate that he is the governor. But what we are saying is that you cannot govern Rivers State without a budget, you cannot govern Rivers State without recognizing the assembly that the people of Rivers State voted for.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
