Wike calls out PDP governors: “At night, they love Tinubu, but during the day, they say different things.”

Wike calls out PDP governors:
Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has criticized a few PDP governors for allegedly behaving dishonestly toward President Bola Tinubu. According to the Daily Post, Wike charged that these governors were officially distancing themselves while privately endorsing the president. The former governor of Rivers State, Wike, made these remarks on Saturday during the PDP state congress in Port Harcourt, while speaking to the party’s secretariat.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
The event provided him a platform to explain his contentious decision to work against his own party during the last presidential election.

Reflecting on his choice, Wike highlighted what he saw as the PDP’s failure to uphold key principles, which ultimately pushed him to take a stand. He noted that the party had failed to prioritize justice, fairness, and equity in its approach to the 2023 election.

As a result, Wike chose to oppose the PDP during the presidential race. “I didn’t hide it in 2023 when I said PDP I would not support you for the presidential election; I said I won’t support PDP because it refused to allow equity, fairness, and justice. So, I have no regrets,” he explained.

He contrasted his actions with the behavior of some current PDP members, whom he feels are not straightforward in their dealings. He accused them of playing both sides, secretly supporting President Tinubu while publicly pretending to oppose him.

“When Buhari was there, you never saw me play two sides; I never went to the villa at night only to come out in the day to shout,” Wike stated. He pointed out the inconsistency of these governors, claiming that “some of them now love the president at night, but during the day, they say different things.”

He emphasized the importance of being consistent and true to one’s character in political life. He encouraged his fellow politicians to stand firm in their beliefs, regardless of the circumstances.

“Be a man of character; stand so that people will know that this is who you are,” Wike urged. He expressed disappointment in those who failed to declare their support for any clear candidate during the 2023 election, noting that their lack of loyalty ultimately led to failure.

Wike calls out PDP governors:

He further stressed this point by adding, “We defeated your own candidates; tell us who was your candidate in 2023. They all lost; they are not ashamed that what they didn’t plant, they want to harvest. An armed robber is an armed robber any day, any time.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
