Fear of escalation led to the closure of businesses, banks, and some markets across the city. Wike stressed the importance of dialogue and patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging protesters to remain peaceful.

According to The PUNCH reports, Wike said, “I commend the protesters in Abuja who have refused to be violent; let them continue to be peaceful. Abuja is the Centre of Unity; if we lose Abuja, we have lost Nigeria. Let us work together. Give President Tinubu time, and a lot of things will change”.

He reiterated the necessity of dialogue, appealing for continued peaceful protests and expressing readiness to address issues through discussion. “It is better to sit down and iron out issues with the government.
