In a recent report by Punch, Lloyd mentioned that other states, like Zamfara and Akwa Ibom, have extended the terms of their local government chairmen for six months. He accused Fubara of listening to bad advice from people who want to take advantage of the political crisis in the state.
Lloyd also made a plea to the National President of NULGE, the union for local government employees, asking him to warn his members in Rivers State not to join in any protests organized against the police.
In Lloyd’s words: ” The Assembly extended the tenure of the local government chairmen in Zamfara for six months. Our sister state here, Akwa Ibom has also done it. What we have here (Rivers) is a situation where the Governor (Fubara) is inept, inexperienced and is now open to all kinds of advice, including from people who want to benefit from the system”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
