According to Muhammadu Buhari To Nigerians On Sallah Day "It Is Not The Time To Relent When We See Prices Going Up"

The growing number of Nigerians farming to increase food supply and lower prices has pleased former President Muhammadu Buhari. Speaking during the Eid prayer in Daura, Buhari urged people to value independence and buy local food.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

However, he also expressed concern about Nigeria’s uncontrolled population growth, warning that it poses serious challenges for future generations. He said that there is a need for deeper conversation and challenge about the issue.

He said that Nigerians have shown that they can grow their own foods, and that this is not the time to relent when they see the prices of items going up, and urged Nigerians to purchase made-in-Nigeria products.

He said, “I use this occasion to make an appeal to all citizens to make Nigeria self-reliant. Let us grow our own food. We have shown that we can do it. This is not the time to relent when we see prices going up. Let us buy what is produced in the country.”

According to the report by Arise News on Sunday, Buhari spoke about the need for increased investment in education and health to address this issue.

He also spoke about the Sallah celebration, said that it is a season for Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers.

Addressing National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Buhari praised the scheme as a unifying force for the country and urged successive administrations to strengthen it.
