Iyayi acknowledged that many had doubted the possibility of this achievement but credited Wike for making it a reality. He assured Wike of the Ijaw nation’s unwavering support and gratitude, despite ongoing feud with Siminalayi Fubara.

“After 24 years, when nobody thought it was possible, when nobody thought we can realize or achieve that feat of having an Ijaw as Governor, Nyesom Wike did it for us.
