In an interview on Arise TV, Momodu pointed out that he had expected Wike to deescalate the conflict, especially following an intervention from the president. Instead, Wike intensified his attacks on his fellow party members, particularly targeting his perceived political godson. Momodu reflected on the missed opportunity for reconciliation, noting that rather than seeking to mend fences after the local government elections, Wike continued to engage in aggressive rhetoric.
He emphasized that the turning point came when Wike’s attacks extended to the governors supporting Fubara. He said, “I think the last straw that broke the camel’s back was when we started attacking some PDP Governors who said they were standing by Fubara. I think at that stage, he mismanaged everything.
