Speaking in a widely shared video today, one of the group’s members claimed to be their leader, Amagbein, also referred to as the River Lord.

The Army, in its investigations, has identified Amagbein as the mastermind behind the brutal attack on its personnel and had pursued him to the Igbomotoru community in Bayelsa State.

However, their search proved fruitless as Amagbein managed to escape capture, leaving authorities to increase efforts to arrest him.

The spokesperson, sporting a beard and a white headband tied around his forehead, likened Amagbein’s background to that of the late Isaac Adaka Boro, a well-known Ijaw revolutionary figure.

“We, the followers will stand with Amagbein until death do us apart,” the spokesperson declared.

Appealing to the Federal Government, the spokesperson urged for the transfer of waterways security to individuals they deem fit for the task, implying themselves.

“We are begging the Federal Government to ensure that the waterways security is given to the person doing the right work.,” the spokesperson stated.

Warning of potential consequences, the spokesperson hinted at the continuous of illegal bunkering activities should their demands remain unaddressed.

“Bunkering will not stop if the Federal Government refuses to attend to us in a peaceful, easy way,” he cautioned.
