Edwin Adai: 'Jandor removed name of a candidate in my support group who won primary election in Lagos'

The disbanded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council’s national coordinator, Adai Edwin Adai, has blasted Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), the party’s candidate for governor in the most recent Lagos State election. Adai accused Jandor of hypocrisy during an interview on The Morning Show for maintaining that Chief Olabode George was engaged in anti-party actions, despite the fact that Jandor had himself replaced the victor of a primary election with a less strong contender who ultimately lost the general election. Adai claimed that he led one of the strongest PDP support groups, and that group had a primary winner; however, Jandor had changed the name of the victorious candidate to a lesser one. Adai questioned if anti-party activities was not also being committed by Jandor. He said.

Jandor himself that is talking, I remember vividly…a candidate in my support group who won a primary election in Lagos State, his name was removed by this same Jandor…Would that amount to anti-party activity? If I am going to hold that against him, that is also an anti-party activity.”

Adai essentially accused Jandor of undermining the party’s chances by fielding a weaker gubernatorial candidate who lost, while hypocritically criticizing others for perceived disloyalty.
