The assertion that President Bola Tinubu created Lagos State has been refuted by a lawyer and human rights campaigner. Lagos, he claimed, has the fifth-largest economy in Africa, but the state does not have the infrastructure or services to support that status. He emphasized that throughout the previous 20 years, significant healthcare facilities had not been constructed in Lagos. Speaking on the educational system, he described how it was almost entirely privatized and how, as a result, people who could afford better options were drawn away from the state of the art schools.
