Mixed Reactions As Obi Discloses What He Did After He Heard About The Death Of People Who Wanted To Buy Rice

Social media users have responded in a variety of ways to Peter Gregory Obi, the former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party LP for 2023, after he said he wept upon learning of the deaths of some Nigerians who were trying to purchase food in Lagos. THE CABLE reports that the Nigerian Customs Service in Lagos distributed confiscated bags of rice, resulting in the deaths of no less than seven individuals. According to reports, there was a rush during the exercise that resulted in seven fatalities and numerous injuries.

However, Peter Obi has now stated that he cried after he heard about the death of the people.

He made the revelation while speaking on the topic “Redefining Our Options & Consolidating Our Legacies” at an an event that was organized by All Conveners Support Groups for Good Governance in Abuja on Sunday.

One of the Labour Party LP, chieftains, Oseloka H. Obaze who also attended the event quoted Peter Obi as saying, “Nigerians died trying to buy rice; I cried!”.
