Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has revealed that the Nigerian federal government has been requesting that state governors reimburse it for the funds it provided to the state to mitigate the impact of the elimination of fuel subsidies. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Seyi Makinde made this revelation in a programme held in Oyo State which was shown on TVC News Television. During the programme, Seyi Makinde said, “the federal government promised the states N5 billion. Out of that N5 billion, they only paid N2 billion and they are even asking that the N2 billion should be refunded right now.”

“We have cooperated with the federal government and it is the responsibility of the federal government to manage the situation in Nigeria. We have left a lot of money that should be shared and said it should be kept so that we can manage the inflation in the country.
