How Rich Men Are Destroying The Lives Of Poor Girls In Kano By Molesting Them–According to Hisbah Leader, Daurawa

In an exclusive interview with BBC HAUSA, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the leader of Hisbah in Kano state, described how Hisbah is making every effort to protect girls from low-income households from wealthy males in the state. The head of Hisbah clarified that he is disturbed by the state’s continued spiraling out of control. The leader of Hisbah lamented that underage girls who come from poor families are being used by rich men in the state because of their financial condition. He explained that these are girls whose parents send to hawk but instead, they are being taken to hotels by rich men. He noted that this has prevented the girls from going to school or doing business.

He said, “Rich men are destroying the lives of poor girls in Kano state by molesting them and the thing is getting out of hand. These are girls whose parents sent to hawk for them but they are being taken to various hotels by rich men. Right now we have 2 girls out of 13 that got pregnant through this immoral act. Those doing this have prevented the girls from going to school or doing business.

Recently, the Hisbah raided hotels where such things that go against the teachings of Islam occur based on intel we received but after the video of the arrests got out, we received several backlashes on social media. Among those doing this are those who think they are above the law, they think nobody can arrest them.
