Hardship: Peter Obi Responds To Akpabio's Claim That Tinubu's Govt Gave State Govs ₦30 Billion Each

In response to the assertion made recently by Senate President Godswill Akpabio that Bola Tinubu’s government gave state governors ₦30 billion each to help alleviate hardship and hunger in their respective states, Mr. Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has responded. While reacting, Mr Obi noted that the federal government should be commended for offering such a huge support, considering the hard time people are passing through, noting that the government should also be transparent for the sake of good governance. He went on and urged the Bola Tinubu’s led government to explain how such amount of money was disbursed, so that the members of the public will know.

Speaking further, the former Anambra State governor urged the federal government to do something, to make sure that the resources are transparently invested in productive ventures, to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.

Mr Peter Obi made this disclosure in a long post he made on his official X handle on Friday morning, while reacting to the recent claim that was made by Senator Akpabio.

Mr. Obi went on and stated it clearly that the country must stop the unproductive habit of throwing away scarce and borrowed money, urging the get government to invest in production. He further noted that our country should urgently move from consumption to production, so as to move the nation forward.
