Just Few Nights Ago, 45 Trucks Of Maize Were Caught Being Transported Into A Neighbouring Country: According to VP

Recently, shocking information about the illicit exportation of agricultural products from Nigeria was disclosed by Vice President Kashim Ibrahim Shettima. Shettima revealed that 45 trucks carrying maize were stopped a few nights ago while being smuggled into a neighboring nation while speaking at the Public Wealth Management Conference in Abuja. According to media reports by the Nation, the Vice President stated that there are 32 illegal routes along the border that are frequently used to transport farm produce out of the country illegally.

He said; “Just few nights ago, 45 trucks of maize were caught being transported into a neighbouring country. There are 32 illegal routes on that axis. At the moment when they were intercepted, the price of maize fell by N10,000, from N60,000 to N50,000. So there are forces that are hell bent on undermining our nation but this is the time for us to come together

Shettima lamented that there are forces working to undermine Nigeria’s economy through such illegal practices. He called on all citizens to unite behind President Bola Tinubu and rally around governors to address this critical challenge.

The Vice President reiterated the importance of unity, noting that Nigeria has the resources, intellect and capacity to overcome its current economic troubles, particularly the foreign exchange crisis.
