In response to the President’s statement, Onochie stated that Nigeria won’t advance until all citizens start to hold state governors responsible.
She said To be fair, the state governors are the problem of Nigeria and not the Federal Government because the country doesn’t run a unitary system of government.

“When Nigerians, including Nigerian Media, Civil Society Organisations, Religious bodies, Traditional Institutions, Opposition Parties, Ruling Party, begin to hold State Governors to Account, we will begin to see progress in our nation. To be fair, the Federal Government is not our main problem. Its our states. We do not run a unitary system of government. Let the federating units look after their people and develop their domain.
