Senator Demands Disbandment of NSCDC and FRSC for State Police Implementation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to dissolve the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by Senator Ita Enang of the 7th National Assembly. Daily Trust made this information public. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Enang, a former assistant to the president, said these things when he appeared on Sunday Politics on Channels Television. He suggests that the NSCDC and FRSC are superfluous additions to the nation’s current security organizations and instead calls for the establishment of state police. Enang suggests that personnel from these groups be sent to the state police forces.

Additionally, he recommends that state police should collaborate with state-owned security groups like Amotekun and Ebube-Agu. Emphasizing the urgency of establishing state police, Enang urges President Tinubu to expedite the process by instructing the Attorney General of the Federation to draft an executive bill for submission to the National Assembly. He asserts that this bill should clearly define the boundaries of state police operations in relation to federal police.
