'If We Can Place Soldiers Around All The Farms In Nigeria, One Problem Will Be Solved' - According to Prof Utomi

Professor Pat Utomi, an economist, has pointed out that production problems are at the core of Nigeria’s problems. He said that coming up with solutions, like ending the food crisis, is one way to deal with this issue. In light of the impending rains, he suggested that we concentrate on crops that can be produced in areas capable of producing food quickly—that is, ones that can be cultivated in three months or less. He suggested deploying soldiers to safeguard all farms across Nigeria to protect the farmers and the products. He stated that this protective measure lays the groundwork for enabling the country to engage in export activities based on enhanced product value.

He said in an interview with AIT, ”The Fundamental problem facing Nigeria is a problem of production. How do you deal with that problem of production? One example is solving the food problem. The rains are about to start, there are foods that we can grow and in three months we will have them plenty. We can get parts of the country that have endowment and can produce those foods very quickly. If we can place soldiers around all the farms in Nigeria, one problem will be solved.
