Oluchi Oparah, the Labour Party’s national treasurer, has charged that Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, has denied her the right to carry out her duties in that role. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Prior to this, Oluchi Oparah had charged Abure with embezzling 3.5 billion naira. According to her, the funds were raised in advance of the general elections in 2023 through form sales and other fundraising initiatives.

Speaking during a recent interview with Arise TV, Oparah said that the national chairman of the party, A. A. Salem died in December 2020, and that she wonders how Salam came from the dead to sign a check at the time that Abure was secretary of the party. He said that the money in question was claimed in two batches between February and early March.

She said, “The late national chairman of our party, A. A. Salam, died on the 29th December 2020, and February, after his death, I’m still wondering how he came from the dead to come and sign a check that only Abure, as at that time, was the secretary of the party. I’m wondering how he rose from the dead to come and sign that check for Abure to claim money. These monies were claimed from the 28th of February through the 7th of March. These monies were paid in two batches, 14 million naira, that is seven-seven million naira each.”

She alleged that Abure doctored an audit report that involved over two billion naira and brought it for her to sign, but she refused to do so. She said that she never knew that they had such an amount of money. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
