President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s involvement seemed to temporarily defuse the tension between Fubara and Wike, his estranged political mentor. A resolution consisting of eight points surfaced, which seemed to quiet the political storm, although unanimity on the whole didn’t seem to be there.
Despite public pledges to honour the presidential resolution, the body language of both leaders conveyed a different narrative, fostering doubt about their commitment to its implementation.
