The EFCC spokeswoman, VANGUARD, claimed that Dele Oyewale received a letter from Farouk indicating that she was experiencing health problems.
Vanguard quoted EFCC spokesperson as saying, ”It is true that she didn’t show up but she sent a letter pleading for more time explaining that she had some health challenges. She didn’t shun EFCC invitation, she actually gave reasons why she couldn’t meet up. Her lawyer was also at the commission to brief the anti-graft agency of why she couldn’t come or honour the invitation,”.
Reacting to the report, Okonkwo stated that is it only when EFCC invites Nigerian big men to answer for their crimes that they fall sick.
He wrote on his page, “Please, is it only when EFCC invites Nigerian big men to answer for their crimes that they fall sick? Somebody should please educate us and give such a sickness a name, because I am sure such sickness does not exist in the dictionary of known sicknesses. That in itself is a crime”.
