He said while addressing recent political developments in a Symfoni TV broadcast. “It is too late and the truth is that we are not going back. We have given them enough room.”
“We have only one assembly, and that assembly is headed by the Right Honorable Victor Oko Jombo,” Fubara declared, seeking to clarify any confusion about the state’s legislative authority.
Using a metaphor to describe their defections, the Governor stated, “A group of friends embarked on what they call Simbar Journey. And halfway, the vessel, while they were coasting, they now realized that they were entering inside the den of the devil, and sharply they now retreated.”
The Governor also addressed the implementation of the 1.1 trillion naira bill recently signed by the Oko Jumbo led assembly: “Now that this bill has been signed, I can assure you that every projection in it, we will make sure that we kickstart it.” He concluded with a promise of increased performance: “The record of performance that was accorded to this administration in the year 2024 will be higher this year.”
The Martins Amaewhule’s led assembly on the other hand has insisted that the governor cannot pass a budget before 3 members whom they argued that they have been suspended by the House in 2023.
