2027 Election: Seyi Makinde says. – Yorubas Made Mistake, They’ll Not Vote APC In 2027

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has stated his belief that the South-West’s populace will turn against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections scheduled for 2027. Governor Makinde claimed that the residents of the area committed a costly error in 2023, according to SaharaReporter.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He added that it will never repeat itself, particularly as a result of the hardship caused by the party’s policies.

Speaking at a campaign event in Ondo State on Thursday, October 24, 2024, Makinde declared that the residents of the South-West have become “wiser” and are ready to make different electoral choices.

Makinde, who serves as the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West, said that the Yoruba people—who largely backed President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2023 general elections—have come to regret that decision.

He claimed that the difficulties and economic challenges under APC’s leadership have motivated voters in the region to reconsider their stance.

“The people of the South-West of Nigeria are wiser,” Makinde asserted during his speech.

He highlighted Ondo State in particular, stating that voters in the state would make a clear statement of support for the PDP in the upcoming governorship election on November 16, 2024.

“If wishes were horses, everybody would be riding it. I can tell you that the people of the South-West of Nigeria are wiser and especially in Ondo State.

“On November 16, they will tell him (Ganduje) that Ondo State and indeed South-West is for the PDP,” Makinde declared.

This statement comes on the heels of recent comments by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who expressed confidence that the South-West would support the APC again in 2027.

However, Makinde dismissed Ganduje’s optimism, arguing that the “talk is cheap” and that the true sentiments of the people would become evident at the polls.

“Talk, they say is cheap. You can say whatever you like with your mouth, but the people of Ondo State, they will speak loud and clear on November 16, 2024, and then all of us in this country will hear it loud and clear,” he said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
