Globally recognized singer and entertainer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid continues his rapid rise to the top of African music royalty.
The Grammy award winning recording and performing artiste has added another gold certification from the United States to his belt. On Monday, August 8, 2022, the Afrobeats superstar added scored another gold certification with Beyonce‘s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which featured him and Blue-Ivy Carter.
The Starboy Entertainment headline act grabbed his first gold certification in the US with “Come Closer” featuring Canadian heavyweight rapper Drake, followed by ‘Essence’ with Tems (a song that has now gone platinum).
“Brown Skin Girl” happens to be a single off the ‘Lion King: The Gift album‘ which was produced by highly rated American songstress, Beyonce. The song has officially sold over 500,000 units in the United States making it eligible for Gold certification.
