The senator, who made this claim in a statement, reportedly claimed that Nigerians had previously been misled by various agencies since their daily use of 69 million liters had suddenly fallen to 13 million liters.
“After the subsidy was removed, we found that Nigeria was actually consuming 13 million liters per day rather than 69 million,” he stated. He continued by saying that the NNPC Limited’s daily consumption figures had drastically decreased because the old figures’ constituent parts included real domestic consumption, gasoline smuggling into neighboring countries, and nonexistent petrol consumption figures that only existed because they were tied to false subsidy claims.
