According to Fabrizio Romano, staff at Chelsea have warmly admitted that they admire Johnson, but have no plans to negotiate a deal for the 22-year-old Welshman this summer.
Chelsea have decided to continue to pursue other forwards and have a number of options shortlisted.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are adamant that they want to keep hold of Johnson and even rejected a bid from Premier League side Brentford earlier in the window.
