Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, may have taken a dig at Tonye Cole, the candidate for the state’s Democratic Party, after Siminalayi Fubara, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) nominee for governor, won the election.

The governor of Rivers State who made these claims stressed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ultimately gained control of his town, ward, and local government area after he had relied on his Godfather, Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of the state.
They had overlooked the fact that the voters in Rivers State had massively chosen to reject them, he said.
