In an effort to lessen the bad effects that the lack of bank notes is having on Nigerians, it was announced today that the Central Bank of Nigeria, or CBN, has verified the evacuation of bank notes to commercial banks in Nigeria.

But as Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson for Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former candidate for president of the All Progressives Congress, APC, responded to this on his Twitter account this afternoon, he claimed that the CBN had suddenly woken up to its responsibilities because of a threat from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), which had threatened to close down all CBN offices across the nation due to a cash shortage yesterday.

“Suddenly the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, woke up to its duties, ostensibly in reaction to the threat by NLC to picket CBN offices.
