According to a report by Punch, three teenagers were arrested for allegedly planning and fabricating the kidnapping of their friend in Delta State with the intention of extorting N700,000; SP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the Delta State Police, revealed the age of the suspects, saying they are all 17 years old. According to what SP Edafe said, “These three suspects are friends, all 17 years old. They conspired and faked the kidnapping of one of their friends in Agbor, called the parent of one of them, and demanded a ransom. They (the suspects) were arrested after collecting a ransom of N700,000. A short cut to success leads to a short life. Imagine a 17-year-old who knows how to fake kidnapping just to collect money from their parents. The sad part is that the parents will start running up and down for them to evade justice.
