A victim of police extortion, Isaac Kelechi, has disclosed certain details about the event. Kelechi and his friends were reportedly traveling to Imo State when they stopped at a checkpoint in Bayelsa State, where police extorted them. He later succumbed to the beatings and turned in his mobile device, which enabled the officers to discover a sum of ten million naira in his account.
Isaac Kelechi also proceeded to recount how the police officers, upon discovering this huge amount of money, demanded a sum of six million naira and threatened to kill him and his friends.
