According to a report in the Vanguard Newspaper, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, the national secretary of the Labour Party, revealed this information regarding the recent verdict of an appeal court while speaking at a news conference on Friday.
Alhaji Faruk Ibrahim continued by stating that the party is still in the tribunal contesting both the method and results of the presidential election. He also pointed out that Lamidi Apapa and his group’s goal is to subjugate the Labour Party in order to prevent the party from succeeding in the Presidential election case.
“The Edo Appeal Court has since ruled that Abure is the genuine Chairman of the Labour Party and anything done under his leadership is legal,” he stated. “This includes the nomination of candidates for election.”
In addition, the party stated that in light of the verdict rendered by the Edo State court of appeal, anyone who is dissatisfied with the decision may seek redress from the supreme court as provided by law.
The Labour Party’s National Secretary also stated that they took the time to clarify this because Lamidi Apapa and his backers are determined to make the party suffer and that they won’t give up until they succeed in their goal.…… Continue Your Reading
