Speaking about how he has been able to assist Nigerians in reducing the recent hunger pandemic, Senator Ali Ndume of the Borno South Senatorial District disclosed that the Federal Government supported lawmakers by giving them $200 million for palliative measures. He said that he personally obtained more than 30,000 bags of corn by using his connections. He emphasized how this meal was provided widely throughout his senatorial area, which included nine local governments and 1778 polling places.

And because of my relationship with people, I have been able to procure over 30,000 bags of maize. And as I’m speaking to you now, I have 1778 polling units in my senatorial district, nine local governments and there is nowhere that this food did not reach.
