Rivers Youths Chase Anti-Fubara Agent Away From Council "Their Tenure Has Elapsed They Should Go Home"According to Vanguard, young people in Rivers State’s Eleme Local Government Area have taken over the Council Secretariat. The youths took action following the governor’s statewide broadcast.

The governor had directed Heads of Local Government Administration to take over leadership of the 23 LGAs in the state.

The youths then chased away all agents opposed to the governor’s directive.

Hundreds of youths moved around the council premises.

They declared that they would not allow anyone to take what belonged to the council.

One youth, who preferred not to be named, explained their actions.

“All of them have disappeared, because we have come to take over. The governor is the power that we know. We have taken over Eleme. Total take over,” he said.

He underlined their loyalty to the governor.

“The governor is the power we know, there is no other power. We have taken over Eleme. Eleme is taken. Their tenure has elapsed they should go home,” he added.

The situation remains tense as the youths continue to occupy the council secretariat.
