Punch reports that a group of thirty robbers with heavy weapons stormed the Ben Ja’am Guest House in Minna, Niger State, leaving a path of chaos and devastation in their wake. Wearing all-black clothing, the bandits broke into the guesthouse at around two in the morning on Thursday. Brandishing machetes, they demanded items from the scared residents. One brave occupant, a civil defense operative, refused to surrender his phone to the robbers, prompting a vicious machete attack that left him with a deep hand wound.
The robbers also targeted a nearby residence, breaking into rooms and making off with valuables, including N100,000 and multiple phones. Tenants, fearing for their safety, cooperated fully with the robbers.
Eyewitnesses described the robbers as well-organized and menacing, with some wearing masks to conceal their identities.
The Niger State Police have launched an investigation into the raid, but their response was delayed, allowing the robbers to escape.
