Police burst animal rustlers syndicate in Jigawa

Jigawa State police command has burst suspected syndicate of animal rustlers terrorising Dutse axis.

Spokesman of the command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed this in a statement issued to DAILY POST.

According to the statement, “Police on Friday at about 0300hrs received report that one black motor vehicle golf wagon with registration No. X MG 102 AAA was sighted parked by the road side near Gidan Tilo village along Shuwarin-Kiyawa road, Kiyawa LGA suspected to be preparing to commit their heinous act.”

He said upon receipt of the report, the patrol team attached to the Kiyawa Division was dispatched to the scene.

One Alhassan Isiyaku, 20 years, of Tashar Yada quarters Shuwarin town Kiyawa LGA, was arrested found hiding in the vehicle.

Shiisu said items recovered include: bunches of keys both standard and locally made suspected to be master keys, some ropes suspected to be used for animals rustling, an iron cutter suspected to be a breaking implement,
one padlock and one flog spanner.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to specializing in animal rustling, tricycle theft (keke napep), motorcycle theft, and motor vehicle theft.

He also mentioned one Umar Abdullahi of the same address as his accomplice and owner of the bag discovered in the vehicle, who was later apprehended and confessed to specializing in the theft of solar batteries and electric armor cables.
