Dr. Segun Showunmi, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has responded to reports that former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike shared $30k in cash with each member of the NEC. According to a report shared on Investigative Journalist Jackson Ude’s official X handle, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister is allegedly giving $30k to each member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) in order for them to vote in favor of the party’s current leadership, which is led by Chairman Umar Damagum and Secretary Sam Anyanwu.
However, Segun Showunmi has now reacted after the report surfaced online. In the post that he shared on his official X handle, he said people might have to agree that the end has come for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Segun Showunmi wrote on his official page;
“Interesting! We might have to accept the verdict of history. Perhaps, the end has truly come for the party. If highly placed members of NEC would fall for this, I guess the titanic couldn’t escape its fate. We wait”.
