Pastor E. A. Adeboye once said, “I thought I was tithing until I met a man who gives 90% of his income as tithe.”

“If you see the glory, try to discover the secret,” said pastor E. A. Adeboye. Until I met a certain individual, I believed I was tithing. I recently attended a camp meeting, where they always accepted the standard offering. Then they announced that they would want to accept a special offering for their Bible College one day. When given the opportunity to speak, one guy remarked, “I want you people to give generously this evening because my wife and I will give a total of what the whole congregation has given.”

Ah, what does he just say? since there were perhaps 70,500 of us. Knowing human nature, some people who planned to donate $10 instead gave $40 or $50. We donated a total of $3.5 million in the end. “Is that all you people can give?” the man asked after grabbing the microphone.

Ah, like I stated, he is aware of information that I am not. I surrounded him and asked, “What’s your secret—what are you doing is crazy?” He claimed that five years ago, when he began a business with $500, he prayed and told God, “This business is your business. I won’t insult you by giving you 10%; I will give you 90% as tithe.” “Sir, today I had a turnover of $50 million from $500 five years ago,” he said to me.

“My level hasn’t gotten to 90% yet, but I will. But I ask God to give you a heart that is willing to give generously to Him.…… Continue Your Reading
