The command documented 51 occurrences of serious crimes during that time, including armed robberies, kidnappings, culpable killings, and livestock rustling, according to Police Spokesman ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu. Thirty of these cases were successfully brought to justice, indicating a firm response to the state’s persistent criminal activity.
In a press briefing held at the Command Headquarters, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu revealed that 64 suspects were apprehended in connection with various criminal offenses. Among the arrests were nine suspected armed robbers, 11 murder suspects, and 29 individuals linked to cases of rape. Additionally, 19 suspects were detained for offenses such as criminal force, intimidation, inciting disturbance, theft, and association with gangs of brigands.
Highlighting a specific incident, the police statement detailed the arrest of three suspected armed robbers and the recovery of two stolen phones on March 21, 2024. The suspects, identified as Muhammed Halliru, Mohammed Nuhu, and Hamza Bala, were apprehended in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. The arrests came following a report lodged by Abdulrazak Hamisu, who was accosted by the suspects armed with dangerous weapons while in the company of his girlfriend.
