According to Nigerian journalist Oseni Rufai, the DSS should have expended the same amount of effort on the arrest and prosecution of individuals who threatened voters in Lagos during the elections as it did on the report of the planned interim administration.

According to Oseni Rufai, the DSS’s mention of a frivolous court order may have given the wrong impression to certain people because it appears to imply that the agency does not trust the judiciary.
Oseni Rufai believes that the DSS may be implying that the court is where frivolous orders originate when it says that a frivolous court order will be issued in relation to the election results.
Oseni Rufai reminded the DSS that if some people are unhappy with the election results, the only place they can turn is the court, and as a result, everyone should let the court do its job without interfering.
