Obaseki's Ex SSA; God wanted to punish Godwin Obaseki by giving him defeat because of his wickedness

Former senior special assistant to departing Edo governor Godwin Obaseki, Solomon Okoduwa, has praised Monday Okpebholo, the state’s newly elected governor, as a “God-sent” leader. Okoduwa’s comments follow Okpebholo’s triumph in the governorship race on Saturday, in which he defeated Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to Daily Trust, in a statement issued today, Okoduwa characterized Okpebholo’s win as a sign of divine intervention, suggesting it serves as a punishment for Obaseki, whom he accused of governing with “wickedness, vendetta, and high-handedness.” He expressed strong confidence in Okpebholo’s character, highlighting his humility and approachability throughout the campaign.

“Okpebholo, from his background, is God-sent. The way he addresses issues and relates to people, you will never see arrogance in him,” Okoduwa stated. He emphasized that the governor-elect’s ability to connect with various segments of the populace, particularly returnees and marginalized groups, was pivotal to his electoral success.

“This connection is why the entire returnees protested against [Obaseki] and voted for Okpebholo,” he asserted, pointing to a significant shift in voter sentiment during the campaign.

Reflecting on Obaseki’s tenure, Okoduwa remarked, “Almighty God deliberately wanted to punish Obaseki by giving him defeat because of his wickedness to returnees and other indigenes of Edo State.” He further analyzed the reasons behind Obaseki’s electoral defeat, attributing it to what he described as “wickedness and high-handedness, an unforgiving spirit, and vendetta.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
