NPFL: Bosso keen to help Bayelsa United escape relegation

Bayelsa United technical adviser, Ladan Bosso, has reiterated his commitment to helping the club avoid relegation this season.

The Prosperity Boys currently sit in 16th position on the NPFL table with 34 points.

Bosso emphasised that his priority remains fulfilling the objectives set by his employers, the Bayelsa State Government, and that no external influence would sway him.

According to reports, a section of the supporters has called on the former Flying Eagles coach to reconsider his coaching philosophy.

“The issue is, wherever you find yourself, you need to do something to make a difference,” Bosso told Complete Sports.

“Bosso is someone who believes in young players. If you look at Bayelsa United’s match against Heartland, you will notice that seven of the players who featured in the game are playing in the NPFL for the first time. And that’s how they have been growing, meaning that in the next two to three seasons, Bayelsa United will be aspiring for a continental ticket.

“But for now, we need to be patient with the boys we are talking about. Pressure is part of the job. This pressure is coming from a section of the noisy fans who want to take over the team.

“But as far as I’m concerned, Bosso cannot compromise the interests of the Bayelsa State Government. The state government has made it clear that we must do well and avoid relegation.”
